Koinonia Christian Fellowship at UC Davis

Courses

The following is a sampling of courses that we offer:

Seeker Small Groups
These small groups provide an opportunity for those who are new to Christianity to come together and discuss many of the important questions of life and make friends along the way. Those from all backgrounds are welcome to join in this life journey.

Christian Foundation (Course 101)
Have you ever wondered about the meaning of life? Curious to know more about Jesus and why people are making such a big deal about him? Or perhaps you’ve been attending church all your life, but are still left unsure of your faith or how to articulate it. Written for anyone seeking the truth, Course 101, which includes excerpts and articles from well-known scholars and authors, provides an intellectual basis for Christianity. Key ideas presented during this 8-week course will establish the foundational truths of the Christian faith. Both long-time church members and those who have never considered Christianity will discover much food for thought within the profound writings and concepts presented in this course.

Church 101
This is a 5-part training curriculum on what the church was originally designed to be and what the church should strive towards. We will look at familiar passages in the Bible as well as look through many book excerpts to learn the biblical basis for the church.

First Steps
As a new or maturing Christian, you probably have many questions about your faith. Designed as a twelve-week study course, you will find answers to the following questions: What is your position in Christ – as a Christian? How about your inheritance? What is spiritual growth and what is not spiritual growth? How should a Christian deal with sin? How important are Bible study, prayer, and meditation to the Christian walk? What should Christians do to cultivate the gifts, talents, and opportunities God gives each one of us?

Survival Kit I
Learn five keys or spiritual truths that provide God’s principles for basic Christian living. This includes how to do a quiet time, the role of the church, how to engage in spiritual battle, and much more. Discuss and learn the biblical answers to many frequently asked questions about Christian life.

Celebrate Recovery
(from celebraterecovery.com): The Bible clearly states “all have sinned.” and it is our nature to sin. Because of sin, we’ve all hurt ourselves, we’ve all hurt other people, and others have hurt us. This means each of us need repentance and recovery in order to live our lives the way God intended. Celebrate Recovery is a biblical and balanced program to help people overcome their hurts, habits and hang-ups. Based on the actual words of Jesus rather than psychological theory, this recovery program is unique and effective in helping people change.
